  • POLISHED OR UNPOLISHED RICE- WHICH ONE IS BETTER FOR YOU?

    I held a consultation with a client recently, and we went to a huge fruit and vegetable market and a Wholefoods supermarket. This gave me an opportunity to educate my client on the different fruits and veggies that are available, how they benefit the body inside and out, how to prepare them, and how to make interesting meals. But I also made suggestions about alternative or similar foods to switch too, such as going from white rice to the 40,000 varieties of other rice varieties that are available and better for you. For most of the bodybuilding world who will swear by and religiously consume white rice as their staple carbohydrate especially during competition time, and the rest of society in general, white rice is the ‘go-to’ rice you add to nearly every meal.   • INTERVIEW WITH A VEGAN – HOPE VICTORIA THE VEGAN MOMMA

    If you’ve read my About meyou will know that I’ve been plant-based since I was 9 years old. And I’m really glad that I was allowed to follow my heart and desires at a young age and remove animal produce from my diet. Fast forward to 2016, where plant-based living has become familiar and ‘trendy’ around the world and the abundance of vegan products to consume is readily available. There are so many mothers who have adopted a plant-based lifestyle and are also raising their babies and children plant-based, with lots of success. If you check out Youtube, you will see motivating, powerful and heart-warming vlogs of children genuinely enjoying the abundance of fruits and veggies their parents prepare for them. More specifically, they are thriving off this lifestyle. I love seeing it! More and more parents are aware of the effects of dairy products, which is known to cause allergies and other health problems. They’re also aware of the health, environmental and animal cruelty implications, which has led them to re-evaluate their nutritional choices and lifestyle.   • HIDDEN ANIMAL INGREDIENTS IN YOUR MEDICINE CABINET!

    Have you ever wondered what ingredients are in your medication? especially if you’re plant-based. Do you just put your trust in the doctor that prescribed it for you or the shop assistant in the pharmacy whose recommending it to you?. Some time ago I posted a picture on social media of the baby food brand Cow & Gate, showing the animal products that make up the  ingredients in baby food. I’m not sure if people really clicked and got what I was trying to say. I’ve said it before and I will say it again, we need to take much more care and attention in choosing what we eat, and especially the medication that we take for ourselves and give to others. It takes a second to turn the bottle or package around to read the ingredients and another minute or so, to decide if you’re going to buy it or make a better, healthier food and medication choice.   • 6 PLANT-BASED FOODS THAT PREVENT & FIGHT CANCER

    I am a firm believer that if you eat a plant-based whole foods diet and keep your body oxygenated, you can not only prevent cancer but fight it if it sadly develops in your body. I lost my dad to cancer, and what was even worse was he lived in a different country and we (family) were not aware that he was suffering. I know that he kept this dis-ease and pain to himself to protect us from worrying. But I wish I had the opportunity to not only use all the knowledge that I have gained and continue to gain but, to also contact herbalists, naturopaths, and Doctors who practice plant-based medicine and whom I’ve come to respect and follow so they can help my dad to heal his body and stay alive or at least prolong his life. so, I’m very intrigued when I learn about a plant(s) that can heal and cure ailments, as conventional medicine has yet to cure any dis-ease, but has proven to cause more harm than good.     Its that time again, where I share the story of another amazing person who is not only successful in life, but is flourishing on a plant-based diet. Aside from the ‘where do you get your protein from question’ many meat-eaters and some people in general, don’t believe that you can live a plant-based lifestyle and still be fit and active.
